Carolin Semerjian is a Syrian-Armenian artist, curator, and arts professional based in Abu Dhabi. Her work explores themes of identity, heritage, and resilience, weaving personal and collective memory into visual narratives. Born in Damascus in 1994, she earned her MFA with honours from the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art History with a focus on contemporary art in the Middle East.
Her career bridges artistic production and curatorial practice. She has presented two solo exhibitions in Syria and Armenia, and her work has been featured in international group shows. In 2021, she was awarded the “Komitas 150” Golden Medal as Best Artist of the Year and was later appointed Armenia’s arts representative in the UAE.
Alongside her own artistic journey, Carolin has curated and managed exhibitions across Armenia, Lebanon, Syria, and the UAE, collaborating with institutions, galleries, and artists to foster dialogue and cultural exchange. Her practice continues to highlight the intersections of culture and resilience, creating spaces for shared understanding across artistic communities.
